We recently bought a holiday home in Cornwall for investment. I was introduced to Homes with Heart by our letting agent. I liked the idea of giving a holiday to a family who really needed a break. Having had serious illnesses in our own family, I realised that the last thing you save your pennies for is a holiday and this I could do at no real cost to ourselves.
My husband was quite wary of the whole idea. If they were the sort of people who couldn’t afford a holiday, would they look after our much-loved holiday home? I persuaded him to give it a go and we need not have worried. Nicola and her family left our cottage in perfect order and paid for our cleaner on top. They obviously had a very much needed holiday and that just leaves me with a warm feeling.
To anyone thinking of lending their holiday home to Homes with Heart, I can only say “Go ahead and give someone a break…”.
