Ollie and his family enjoyed a week's break in The Cotswolds
Due to a traumatic birth, our son Ollie suffered severe brain damage which has resulted in him having cerebral palsy. At the age of 4, Ollie also started having seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. We spent the whole summer in and out of hospital watching our little miracle change in front of our eyes and not having any control over it.
So when I heard about Homes with Heart we jumped at the chance of a family break. It also meant we could treat my parents and Ollie’s twin brother to a week away and at no cost to us. We spend a lot of time fundraising to pay for treatment and adapting the house for Ollie’s wheelchair, so we wouldn’t have been able to get away otherwise.
The break was fantastic for us all. It meant we could spend time as a family without the daily worries of work and school. The house was beautiful - we were speechless when we walked in and saw what would be our home for the next week.
Thanks to all at Homes with Heart for a wonderful week and some well earned respite for me and my family.
