We are a small organisation and build up a good relationship with our homeowners and the companies they let their properties through. The houses are all self-catering, privately owned and well regarded and the owner donates a week to us, either by choosing a specific week or waiting for us to request one. If the house is booked well in advance, it is better to be specific and we are taking donations for 2009 already. We have currently teamed up with Helpful Holidays, Classic Country Cottages, Coast & Country and Orion Holidays. Where clients of these companies donate a week, they work with us to manage our families’ bookings so the owners have continuation of service.
If required, we will arrange for the housekeeping and laundry costs to be covered. By looking after the house this way, we hope to encourage the owners to donate again and therefore help more families. On average, the cleaning costs are between £75 and £100 but some properties do, understandably, ask for more – it’s a small price to pay for houses than can sometimes be rented commercially for up to £1,000 a week.
